He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Walter and Arvilla Fern Shain (Wickiser); his son Dwayne Shain; and his siblings, LeRoy Shain, John Shain, Russell Shain, Ken Cole, Ray Shain, Shirley Turnbow, Betty Turnbow and Barb Moon.
He is survived by: his daughters, Diane Shain of Mattoon, IL and Janet Fuller of Mattoon, IL; his grandchildren, Amanda Shaffer of Champaign, IL, Brandy Shain (Jeff Creek) of Mattoon, IL, Braden Shain (Julie) of Elgin, SC, Natalie Fuller of Mattoon, IL, Shayne Fuller (Amanda Huffman) of Mattoon, IL and Colton Fuller of Mattoon, IL; his great grandchildren, Ashley Shaffer of Champaign, IL, Ryan Shaffer of Champaign, IL, Allison Gouveia of Mattoon, IL, Tanner Huffman of Mattoon, IL, Lexi Miah of Mattoon, IL and Anlon Shain of Elgin, SC; and his siblings, Ron Shain (Lavonne), Jim Shain (Dorothy) of Centralia, IL and Kay Kearney of Lovington, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Schilling Funeral Home (1301 Charleston Ave, Mattoon, IL 61938). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations in his honor may be given to the National Kidney Foundation.
