She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren E. Johnson and Susie Johnson (Chestnut); her husband Dennis W. Whightsel; and her brother Deneen Johnson. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Jeffrey W. Whightsel (Cheryl) of Effingham, IL and Susan D. Maninfior (Mark) of Mattoon, IL; her grandchildren, Brandon Whightsel (Addie Smock), Dusty Maninfior (Kaitlin), Derek Maninfior (Liz), Andrew Whightsel, Kathryn Whightsel and Whitney Hirano (Toshi); her great grandchildren, Jack and Calvin Maninfior; and her brother Randy Johnson (Daylene) of Effingham, IL..

Memorial donations in her honor may be given to the First Baptist Church of Mattoon.
