With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vera Kathryn Painter of Mason, Illinois, born in Mattoon, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 15, 2024 at the age of 79. As Vera departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Vera may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Vera leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Vern Roberts and Belinda "Catherine" Roberts (Lawrence); her sister Verlinda Walker; and her daughter-in-law Tracy Painter. She is survived by: her husband Herman Painter, Jr.; and her children, Richard Painter of Effingham, Randy Painter (Marsha) of Mason, Teresa Painter (David Fritcher) of Effingham and Melissa Jackson (Bill) of Marengo, Ohio. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Angel Cove Residential Maternity Pregnancy Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
