He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Petersen and Marzella Petersen (Willis); his brothers, James Petersen, William Petersen, Phillip Petersen and Marty Petersen; and his father-in-law Noble Kirby.
He is survived by: his wife Loletta Petersen of Mason; his sons, Shad Petersen (Tiffany) of Robinson, Craig Petersen (Tammy) of Urbana and Preston Petersen (Amanda) of Flora; his grandchildren, Hunter Petersen, Reyce Petersen, Aubree Petersen, Ava Beard, Laylani Beard, Kelton Nichols, Lia Petersen, Kaylin Petersen and Ayda Petersen; his brothers, Larry Petersen (Joyce) of Hord and Allan "Doc" Petersen of Hord; his mother-in-law Arlene Kirby; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Petersen, Karen Petersen, Sue Petersen and Terri Hillyer.
