It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Whitson of Mascoutah, Illinois, who passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George D. "Fat" II and Margaret Monroe, II (Hall); her son Shawn Whitson; and her sister Linda Jones. She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer Whitson (Darren Webb) of Mascoutah, Christina Whitson (Clarence Mayes) of Mascoutah and Brandi Whitson of Mascoutah; her grandchildren, Amanda Whitson, Jessica Whitson, Lavion Mayes, Dylan Holten, Devin Whitson and Desiree Bruton; her niece Sheri Schmitt; her nephew Eric Jones; her great grandchildren, Maddox, Harper, Liam, Orchid, Camille and Christian; her close friend Lawrence Burns; and her caregiver April.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (816 W Church St, Mascoutah, IL 62258). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
