He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo Strebel and Lenora Strebel; his cousins, Shirley Rood (Foxy), Dorothy Deibert (Clarence) and Judith Ernst (Kenneth); and his friend Elaine Hartley of Collinsville, IL..
He is survived by: his cousins, Maurice Klaus (Patricia) and Garry Klaus; his daughters, Lisa Hartley and Beth Raftopoulos (Alex); and his grandchildren, Lisa Recer (Shane) and Nick Raftopoulos (Katyann).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Barry Wilson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Ltd. (2800 N Center St, Maryville, IL 62062). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Highland City Cemetery (12301 Koepfli Ln, Highland, IL 62249). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bella Vista Winery (6633 E Main St, Collinsville, IL 62234).
Memorials are suggested to the Collinsville High School Band or BJC Siteman Cancer Center and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
