He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Provence and Georgia Provence; his brother Myron Provence; his sister-in-law Jo Provence; and his son Jason Pomerantz.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Provence (Tom Vredenburgh), Jaclyn Provence (Mark Davidson), Matthew Pomerantz (Lyndsy) and Danielle Pomerantz; his grandchildren, Aaron, Scarlett Vredenburgh, Georgia Davidson, Roman, Jayzynn Pomerantz and Slade Pomerantz; his siblings, Brenda Provence, Alice Wilson and Paul Provence; and his sister-in-law Maurie Provence.
Monetary donations, in lieu of flowers, should be sent in remembrance of John to First Baptist Church Maryville.
