John L. Hammond Obituary

We are sad to announce that on April 21, 2025, at the age of 84, John L. Hammond of Martinsville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lambert Hammond and Mandy Fawver Hammond; his wife Brenda Stepp; and his brother Jim Hammond. He is survived by: his children, Brian Martin (Patti) of Martinsville, IL, Kelly Ford (Steve) of Paris, IL, John Hammond Jr. (Alex) of Martinsville, IL, James Hammond (Rikki) of Martinsville, IL and Jacob Hammond (Sheena) of Martinsville, IL; his brother Jesse Hammond (Gloria) of Martinsville, IL; his sister-in-law Donna Hammond of Fargo, ND; and his close friend Joan Morgan. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Martinsville Baptist Church (5 Trotter Lane, Martinsville, IL). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
