He is survived by: his wife Veda Lou Haddock; his children, Janet Togerson (Ted), Amy Highsmith (Brad), Aubrey, Hutton, Oliver Highsmith and Alison Armstrong (JR); his grandchildren, Taylor, Mitch and Levi Armstrong; his great grandchild Adam Tingley (Emily); his grandson Jay Wilhoit (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Madolyn and Lane Wilhoit; his son John Rankin (Sara); his grandchild Jerry Rankin (Brandi); his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Rachel Rankin and Daniel Rankin (Jennifer); his daughter Joetta Mattis (Steve); his grandson Matthew Mattis (Ann); his great grandchildren, Ella, Alicia, Ethan Mattis and Kristofer Mattis (Courtney); and also, Mack, Jaxon Rankin, Macon, Molly and Makinlee Mattis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
