He was predeceased by: his father Dave; his siblings, Lowell Shanks (Marie) and Geraldine Shanks; his stepsiblings, Marjorie Ulrey (Graydon) and Alkie McNary; his stepsons, Dewey Brock, Floyd Brock and Everett Brock; his nieces, Cathy Gilbert (Bill), Mindy Gutherie and Stacy Gutherie; and also, Richard Shanks, Lora Greenlee (John) and Pop.
He is survived by: his daughter Susann Shanks of Terre Haute, IN; his significant other Sherry Littlejohn of Martinsville, IL; his granddaughters, Hannah Bullard of Terre Haute, IN and Courtney Bullard of Terre Haute, IN; his stepsister Juanita McNary of Marshall, IL; and also David Stewart of Terre Haute, IN. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, step grandchildren and other cherished family and friends.
