It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilyn Sue Smitley of Marshall, Illinois, who passed away on November 26, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Quick and Carrie Fern Bradley Quick; her brother Fenton Quick; and her siblings-in-law, Dr. Ronald Higginbotham, Joe Smitley and Deborah Quick.
She is survived by: her husband Robert V. Smitley of Mary's Catholic Church; her children, Robert Christopher Smitley (Nancy) of Marshall, Sara Ann Scharf (John) of Carmel, IN and Michael Anthony Smitley (Jennifer) of Marshall; her grandchildren, Robert Benjamin Smitley (Morgan), Anne Catherine Smitley, Caroline Sophia Scharf, Michael Charles Scharf, Emmaline Grace Smitley, Lukas Fenton Smitley and Annalese Hope Smitley; her great grandchildren, Maddox Wayne Smitley and Miller Marie Smitley; and her siblings, Phyllis Higginbotham of Bristow, VA and Steven Quick of Watseka, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
