He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Highley and Lorraine Highley (Sorich); his wife Dorothy Mari of Chicago; his children, Cindy Highley (Chris Nylander) of Monee, IL, Chris Pooler (Rich) of Marseilles, Ronald A. (Edith) of San Pierre, IN, Joseph Highley (Jen) of Gilbert, AZ and Jim McGonigal (Christine) of Tinley Park; his grandchildren, Kelly Lemke, Sarah Alshabi, Samantha McCabe, Danny Sullivan, Kathleen Vann, Jacob Highley, Richard Pooler III, Bailey Westerhold, Lauren Smith, Sierra and Emma Highley; his sister Helen Walker; and his granddaughters, Amanda Keown and Jessica Barcus. He was also cherished by eighteen great-granchildren.
