He is survived by: his former wife Patricia Gage; his stepson Joe; his wife Carla Olsen; his children, Joseph Ernst (Katherine) of Oglesby, Amy Frankovich (Ron Couch) of Marseilles and Sara Ernst-Cutcher (Steven) of Evert, MI; his grandchildren, Amanda, Rachel, Kaitlin Ernst, Michael, Mitchell, Jacob Frankovich, Marcus and Holly Cutcher; and his brother Ernest "Ernie" Ernst (late Marie).
