He was predeceased by: his parents, Sheridan Cowan and Ada Cowan (Moore). He is survived by: his siblings, Cheryl Nelson (Tim) and John Cowan; his niece Kristin Simpson (Tim); his nephew Andrew Nelson; his great-nephew William; his great-niece Katelyn Simpson; his uncle Peter Moore of England; and his cousin David Goodson of England.

Memorials may be directed Lightways Hospice of Joliet.
