He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlowe Montgomery and Nelda Montgomery (Stoudt); his son Dick Montgomery; and his brothers, Marlowe Dean, Dale Gene and Robert Montgomery.
He is survived by: his sons, Rick Montgomery (Joyce) of Hawthorn Woods and Rex Montgomery (Debbi) of Pekin; and his grandchildren, Michelle Brady (Nate) of Chicago, Jeffrey Montgomery (Jenifer) of Dubuque, Ryan Montgomery of Pekin, Derek Montgomery (Emily) of Dekalb, Jessie Rae Tassart (Steve) of Pekin, Alex Montgomery of Pekin, Kevin Meyer of Shreveport, Kristin Bickham (Bent) of Bogalusa and Shawn Montgomery (Rose) of Indianapolis. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
