He was predeceased by: his father Edgar; his stepfather Elroy E. Keller; his son David Zimmermann; his granddaughter Amanda Aguirre; his son-in-law Greg Benedict; and his siblings-in-law, Mildred King, Amelia Morgan, Geneva Grimes, Kenneth Andrews of Perry Andrews, R. L, Moore, Steve Krug, Oris "Frank" Andrews and James Andrews.
He is survived by: his wife Betty J.; his children, Joyce Stehl (Mark) of Marissa, IL, Barbara Benedict of Southaven, MS, Rhonda Vasquez (James Sharos) of Swansea, IL, Jeffrey Zimmermann (Regena) of Potosi, MO and Nubia Lopez Roman of Alberta, Canada; his sister Sandra Krug of Belleville, IL; his daughter-in-law Angie Zimmermann; his siblings-in-law, Bobbie Andrews of Georgia, Joan Andrews of Florida, Andy Andrews (Betty) of Florida, Albert Andrews of Florida and Alvin Andrews (Loren) of Florida; and his cousin Irvin Keck (Helen). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.
