She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Stroh and Viola Stroh; her sisters, Marilyn Barron (Richard) and Alice Colleen; her half-siblings, Arkel Wilderman (Marie) and Erbyl Wilson (Cleon); her son-in-law Daniel J. Nuernberger; and her grandson John Daniel Nuernberger.

She is survived by: her husband Melvin Wagner of Marissa, Illinois.; her children, Judy L. Newman (Jim) of New Athens, Mary Jo Nuernberger (late Dan) of New Athens and James L. Vielweber (Phyllis) of Freeburg; her sister-in-law Florence Schubert of Fayetteville; and her stepsons, Larry Wagner (Martha), Carl Wagner (Karen), Rev. Don Wagner (Nancy) and Bruce Wagner (Penny). She is also survived by 21 Grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ or New Athens Historical Society.
