He is survived by: his children, John Merlenbach (Michelle) of New Athens, IL and Jill Toedte (Ed) of New Athens, IL; his sister P. J. Gale of Freeburg, IL; his grandchildren, Sonni Merlenbach (Randy Ahne), Chase Merlenbach, Dylan Toedte, Alayna Toedte and Drake Toedte; his great grandchild Brysen Ahne; his nephew Kermit "Jimmie" Heintz; his nieces, Dawn Juenger (Mike), Mindy Arbogast (Jason) and Kaylyn Heintz; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaxon Heintz, Owen Foutch, Trinity Heintz, Krystin Shaffer (Aaron) and Kacey Wahlig; and his pet Zoey.
