He was predeceased by: his father Otto J.; his brothers, Don Blaes, Robert Blaes and Russell Blaes; his daughter-in-law Debbie Blaes; and his grandson Brad Blaes.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his sister Carol Blue; his children, Roger Blaes (Theresa), Larry Blaes (Lisa), Lisa Glaeser (Brad) and Steven Blaes (Shannon); his grandchildren, Hunter Blaes, Kyle Blaes, Kurtis Blaes, Brittany Blaes and Morgan Blaes; his great grandchildren, Aidyn Kiernan, Ellerie Blaes, Charlie McMillin, Eric McMillin and Elizabeth McMillin; his stepchildren, Amber McCarthy (Terry), Shane Tolley (Melinda), Heather Tolley-Bauer (Craig), Tristan Tolley, Tyler Wilson, Jennifer McMillin (Tim), Calvin Ratliff (Carolina), Brea Brunk and Danielle Arthur (Josh); his stepgrandchildren, Reid Bauer, Taylinn Ratliff and Kinley Brunk; and his nieces and nephews, Greg Blaes, Robert Blaes, Richard Blaes, Debbie Nixon, Dorothy Blue, Sharon Voss, Robert Dwayne Blue, Julia Lee, Chris Blue and Paul Blue.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Smithton Lions Club.
