With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wendell Eugene Grant (Marion, Illinois), who passed away on October 12, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Field and Vera Elizabeth Grant (Jones); his sister Elizabeth Ann; and his siblings-in-law, Jon Loomis and Catherine Grant.
He is survived by: his wife Tammy A. Grant of Marion, IL; his children, Wendi Sue Courtney (Andrew) of Sydney, Scott Anderson Grant (Traci) of Andover, KS and Sarah Caroline Henry (Jeremy) of St Paul, TX; his grandchildren, Stephen Anderson Courtney of Sydney, Matthew Grant Courtney of Sydney, Kaylee Sue Menke (Alex) of Ft. Worth, TX, Hannah Lynn Grant of Andover, KS and Joshua Scott Henry of St Paul, TX; his siblings, Nanette Cottingham (Carl) of Carterville, IL, Mary Jane Estrada (Javier) of Marion, IL, John Dwight Grant (Carolyn Ann) of Marion, IL and Richard Lee Grant (Kathleen Shannon-Rink) of Marion, IL; the mothers of children, Janis Sue Anderson Grant of Lavon, TX and Drahthaar; and his pet Cobie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other extended family and many friends.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to either or both: "This Able Veteran" a local service dog organization benefitting veterans and/or "Washington Avenue Baptist Church.".
