Vera M. Stephens Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vera M. Stephens of Marion, Illinois, who passed away on June 13, 2020 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Smoot and Flossie Smoot (Proctor); her husband Dennis D. Stephens; her brothers, Wendell Smoot (Florence), Loren Smoot and Rev. James Smoot (Ruby); and her son-in-law Steven Stapleton.
She is survived by: her children, Gary D. Stephens (Debra) of Sparta and Dianne Stapleton of Goreville; her grandchildren, Rachel Erdmann (Clayton) of St. Charles, MO. and Travis Stephens (Kelly) of Vero Beach, FL.; her great grandchildren, Benjamin, Stephen, Jonathan Erdmann, Miles and Riker Stephens; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Smoot of Taylorville.
DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS AND BY THE SIGNING OF EXECUTIVE ORDER BY GOVERNOR J. B. PRITZKER, private graveside services will be held at Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion with Rev. Danny Ward officiating.
