It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Venita June Boaz (Marion, Illinois), born in Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on October 20, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Daphne Owens (Reed); her husband Melvin "Tuffy" Boaz; her parent Jesse F. Owens; and her siblings, Donald Owens and Delilah Owens.
She is survived by: her children, Aaron L. Boaz of Carbondale, IL, James C. Boaz (Deborah) of Carbondale, IL, Donald E. Boaz (Andrea) of Clearwater, FL and Lisa K. Gray of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
