He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" and Helen Garrett (Dempsey); his wife Sally Ann Smith; his daughter Dixie Garrett; and his siblings, Delores Emery, Janet Little and Jimmie Garrett.

He is survived by: his son Andrew S. "Andy"; his daughter-in-law Rachel Garrett; his grandchildren, Drew of Marion, Lily of Marion, Libbie of Marion and Drake of Marion; his son Daniel Garrett; his grandchild Destanie Garrett; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Smith (Veronica) of Booneville, IN and Jim Little of Marion. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other extended family and many friends.
