He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar "Huck" and Beulah Lee Rushing (Hernbeck); his sister Sharon Glassman; and his parents-in-law, Woodrow and Juanita Dann.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Rushing of Marion; his children, Jeff Rushing (Angie) of Marion and Juli Watkins of Marion; his grandchildren, Abby Rushing, Drake Watkins and Draven Watkins; and his uncle Don Hernbeck of Marion.
