She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray McAlavey and Mary McAlavey (Baier); her husband Clifton Douglas Rutledge; and her siblings, Irene Ragland, Lila Mizner, Maxine McAlavey, Theo McAlavey and Robert McAlavey.
She is survived by: her children, John Douglas Rutledge of Changchun, China and Mary Ann Hayden (Carl) of Amherst, VA; her grandson Carl Douglas Hayden of Christiansburg, VA; her sister Donna Perkins (Richard) of Waxahachie, TX; and her sisters-in-law, Martha Ann Mark of Council Grove, KS and Phyllis Greene. She is also survived by other extended family and many friends.
