She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Buckner and Helen Buckner (Sanders); and her husband Tom Wristen. She is survived by: her children, Angie, Kevin Helfrich, Erik and Belinda Pritchett; her grandchildren, Lia, Darian Wheaton, Wyatt Gabby (Emma), Derik Pritchett and Dani Griffith; her great grandchildren, Evelyn Wheaton and Owen Wheaton; and her siblings, Glen Burton (Sonny), Kirk Buckner (Debbie) and Jon Cayce Buckner (Terra). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Coal Bank Springs Cemetery (8659-9165 Dykersburg Rd, Marion, IL 62959).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Gwen's honor to Hospice of Southern Illinois, with gratitude for the care and support they provide.
