He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris E. Groves and Lora McDaniels Groves; his daughter Tammy Groves; and his siblings, Dinah Dollar, Judy Krasselt, Terry Groves and John Logan Groves.
He is survived by: his wife Fay Groves of McKenzie; his children, Angel Phillips (William) of Chester, IL, Tonya Presler (Kris) of Herrin, IL and John Taylor (Ravyn) of Simpsonville, SC; and his siblings, Irene Anderson of Marion, IL, Jane Sills of McComb, IL, Diane Groves, Billy Groves of Marion, IL, Everett Groves of Cincinnati, OH and Raymond Groves of Carterville, IL. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Binkley Ross Funeral Home (1702 W Boulevard St, Marion, IL 62959). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
