It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melanie Lynn Smith (Marion, Illinois), who passed away on January 24, 2021, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Eugene and Shirley Fern Hill (Grimes); her husband Charles Leonard Smith; and her brother Michael Hill. She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Kay Evetts (James Robertson) of Equality and Michelle Renee Johnson (Terry) of Marion; her close friend William "Skip" Myers of Marion; her nephews, Ben Duvall of Marion, Phillip Duvall of Equality, Lucas Duvall of Equality, Tyler Johnson of Marion and Chris Johnson of Marion Four; and her pets, Sasha May and Ozzy. She is also survived by Four great nephews and one great niece.
Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, those attending the service are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
