He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer L. and Mary E. Smith (Gravitt); his son Martin Lynn Smith; and his siblings, Dorothy Smith Gladson, Patsy June Smith and Doyce L. Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Smith of Marion, IL; his son Matthew; his daughter-in-law Jamie Smith of Marion, IL; his grandchildren, Sydnee Smith of Amarillo, TX, Brayden Smith of San Angelo, TX, Robyn Thomas of Springfield, MO, Olivia Thomas of Marion, IL, Perry Stafford of Austin, TX, Sara Stafford of San Angelo, TX and Matthew Compton of San Angelo, TX; his daughter-in-law Cheryl Smith Perry (Chris) of Atlanta, GA; his brother Randy; his sister-in-law Brenda Smith of Abilene, TX; and his nieces and nephews, Doyce Wayne Smith, Mark Gladson, Adrea Shira and Shelby Peebles. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial donations be directed to "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital," "The Gideon's International" or another charity of the donor's choice.
