He was predeceased by: his parents, Linwood Gerald Bechtel and Doris Marie Bechtel (Harris). He is survived by: his children, Brian Jeffrey and Christie Marie; his wife Sandra K. Hindman; his children-in-law, Delisha Bechtel and Chad Goodman; his grandchildren, Preeyae Roper, Briant Bechtel, Briyanna Bechtel, Baylie Bechtel, Paige Goodman, Kaleb Goodman, Jacob Orr and Ayden Orr; and his sister Twila Gay Taylor of Pottstown, PA..

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Herrin Church of Christ (3101 S Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
