He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Elvis and Eva Bell Rickard (Merrell); his grandparents, Tom and Crystal West; his stepfather J. P. Merrell; his sisters, Martha and Mabel Rickard; and his stepbrother J. T. Merrell.
He is survived by: his son Jamie Rickard of Florida; his stepchildren, Rusty, Mike Snyder, Kelly Lovelady and Bobbi Myers; his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Rickard, Anna Rickard, Phyllis Lloyd, Kathy Youngblood and Wanda Merrell; his adoptive daughter Samantha Spence (Brian); and his pet Izza Bella. He is also survived by cousins, nephews and nieces as well as extended family.
