With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James O. Short Jr. of Marion, Illinois, who passed away on August 2, 2023 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James O., Sr. and Ruby Maxine Short (Beasley); and his brother Robert Short. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Short of Marion, IL; his children, James W. Short (Tiffany) of Pittsburg, IL, Melanie Stephenson (Randall) of Creal Springs, IL, Nathan Short (Christine) of Belleville, IL, MaryBeth Doty (Tim) of Arnold, MO, Corey Short (Victoria) of Kewanee, IL and Tianna Short of Bartlett, TN; his grandchildren, Tyler Short, Emily Short, Zachary Short, Kyleigh Cross (Chase), Cadan Vaughn, Kolton Stephenson and Aliyah Short; his great grandchildren, Addilyn and Finan Cross; and his sister Katherine Short of Marion, IL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family.
