It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jackie Dean Whitehead of Marion, Illinois, who passed away on March 3, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma Whitehead and Dimple Whitehead (Edwards); his wife Virginia Whitehead; his children, Michael Whitehead, Sharon Blades and Roger Newlin; and his great grandchild Roger Matthew Newlin.
He is survived by: his children, Jackie Whitehead of Marion, IL and Brenda Moake of Marion, IL; his stepson Gary (Karen Powell); his grandchildren, Amy Whitehead (Joshua Johnson), James Daniel, Erica Whitehead, Rachel, Keith Desilva, Kevin, Valerie Stilley, Leana, Jon Horn, Brent, Julie Litton, Jacque, Jason Billingsley, Marcus Grace, Phillip, Holly Powell, Todd, Sherrean Newlin, Aaron and Holly Newlin; his great grandchildren, Beau James Whitehead, Jace Horn, Jaxon Horn, Jacob, April Stilley, Jessica Stilley, Justa, Chip Taylor, Broc, Presley Litton, Rustin Gamble, David, Megan Gamble, Alexia Rolape of Baylee Kelley, Powell, Colton Newlin, Page Newlin, Grant Newlin, Drew Newlin, Jordan Blake and Jaylan Blake; and his great great grandchildren, Scottie Kern III, Addison Galloway, Michael Stilley, MacKenzie Taylor, Owen Taylor, Madison Gamble, Sadie Gamble, Levi Gamble and Layne Gamble.
Due to the executive order by the Governor of Illinois, for all those attending the visitation and funeral service inside, the wearing of a face mask and practice of social distancing is suggested.
