He was predeceased by: his parents, James Samuel Baker and Ruby Baker (Short); his wife Ruth Bernice Thurston; his son Calvin Baker; his grandson Shawn Chamness; his son-in-law John Heyde; and his siblings, Samuel, James Robert "Bob" Baker, Agatha Tanner, Opal Hill, Carolyn Johnson and Rosetta Short.
He is survived by: his daughters, Regina Heyde of Marion, IL and Pamela Baker of Marion, IL; his siblings, Clarice Killman of Marion, IL and Ron Baker of Paulton, IL; his grandchildren, Chasity Corn (Toby), Derek Baker (Amanda) and Jonathan Heyde; his great grandchildren, Brianna, Jack Baker, Olivia, Ridge and Landry Heyde; and his close friends, Rick, Debbie, Scott and Megan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
