He was predeceased by: his parents, George Albert Butz I and Wavie M. Butz (Whitesell); and his brother Greg Butz. He is survived by: his wife Amy Groves; his son Ben Maclaurin; his stepchildren, Justin Groves (Bryann) and Sarah Halley; and his sister Margo Butz. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two nephews.
