He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Welch and Carolyn Welch (Knezle); his son Calvin Lee Welch; his great-grandparents, Troy and Lena Sims; his aunt Virginia Dunn; and his cousin Dr. Kevin Holmes.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen L. L'Esperance of Marion, IL; his son Kenneth Welch (Mac) of Michigan; his stepdaughters, Jaclyn Ogden (Charles) of Franklin, TN and Jennifer Davis of Norris City, IL; his grandchildren, Violet Welch, Dawson Welch, Nathan Ogden and Jackson Ogden; his great-uncle Wayland Sims of Marion, IL; and his cousins, Vicki Griffin (Don Griffin) of Marion, IL and D. C. Jones of Arkansas. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
