He was predeceased by: his siblings, Helen Johnson, Hazel Catanzaro, Doye Overby, Virginia Overby, Shirley Treeloggen, Muir Edward Overby, Russell Overby, Harry Kenneth Overby and Jack Quentin Overby.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jean Overby of Marion; his son David Gene Overby of Phoenix, AZ; his granddaughter Melanie; his brother-in-law John Hartkopf (Elizabeth) of Marion; and his close friends, Kerry Meyerhoff (Allan) of Makanda, IL and Brenda Moake of Marion. He is also survived by other extended family and many friends.
