It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Denzel Thompson of Marion, Illinois, who passed away on January 23, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawson Thompson and Irene Thompson (Willard); his son Bobby D. Thompson; his grandson Michael Thompson; his siblings, Herbert Thompson and Deon Thompson; and his sister-in-law Betty Thompson.

He is survived by: his wife Inez T. Thompson of Marion, IL; his daughters, Barbara J. Toler (David) of Dongola, IL and Trish A. Jennings (Greg) of Johnston City, IL; his grandchildren, Anthony Thompson, Brett Vinson (Melissa), Casey Restivo (Joseph), Brandon Jennings (Angela), Aaron Jennings (Rayna) and Todd Jennings (Lydia); his great grandchildren, Gavin Thompson, Jeffery Thompson, Xander Vinson, Makayla Kincaid, Lauren Jennings, Kailey Jennings, Elijah Jennings, Lawson Jennings, Araya Jennings, Keira Jennings, Nahum Jennings, Canon Jennings, Lainey Jennings and Emmitt Jennings; his sister Deloris Lafary of Marion, IL; and his sister-in-law Netta Thompson of Marion, IL..
