We bid farewell to Bobby Joe Emery of Marion, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 28, 2024 at the age of 89. Bobby touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Emery and Edna Emery (Jeralds); his former wife Joyce Ann; his wife Lana Emery; his son Bobby Borum; his grandson Paul Deaton; his siblings, Ralph (Betty Emery), Glenn (Wilma Jean Emery), Delbert Jr. (Vita Emery), Harold Dean Emery, Myrna (Kenneth Smith), Cletus Ray Emery, Retha Mae Emery and Faye Boles; and his son-in-law Mike Deaton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jeanie Deaton and Kelli Craig (John); his granddaughter Jinny Crites (Patrick Victoria); his great grandchild Zachary Crites (Cassie); his great great grandchildren, Claire Kearney and Adrian Crites; and his siblings, Jerry Emery (Joy) and Louise Beasley (Alvin). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Blue Funeral Home -Marion (1704 N Court St, Marion, IL 62959). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery (1300 N Court St, Marion, IL 62959).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, continuing Bob's legacy of care and generosity.
