He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William E. Godfrey and Genevieve Godfrey (Vahrenwald); his wife Marilyn Gunderman; his children, Terrence (Kimberly Biehl), Lawrence Godfrey (Peg) and Elizabeth Larson (Rodger); his grandchildren, William (Jane O'Brien) and Amanda Truelove (Casey); his great grandchildren, Miriam, Catherine, John Henry, Lucy Truelove and Alder Godfrey; and his brother Alan Godfrey.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Salvation Army.
