He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard Vehrs and Frieda Vehrs; his wife Marylin Thielenhouse; his daughter Linda; his grandson Joshua; and his siblings, Bernice Lemke, Harold Vehrs, Robert Vehrs, Valerie Oquist and Richard Vehrs.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin (Debbie), Randy (Kim), Herb (Laura), Dean (Tirsa), Melody Winter (Tim) and Rick (Carla). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (412 Jackson St, Marengo, IL 60152). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
