It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Freitag of Mapleton, Illinois, born in Pekin, Illinois, who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Freitag and Ina Freitag (Roelfs); his former wife Julie Schmidt; his granddaughter Halle Roeschley; his sister Virlene Beck; and his nephew Tim Freitag.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Freitag of Mapleton; his children, Chris Freitag of Peoria, Zach Janssen (Chloe) of East Peoria, Whitney Roeschley (Micah) of Celina and Bryce Janssen (Rachel) of Morton; his grandchildren, Tiranny Peterson, Adalyn, Gwenyth, Elijah, Lydia, William, Josiah Roeschley, Braxton, Brynley Janssen, Elise and Levi Janssen; and his brother Carrol Freitag (Sue Gregory) of Hanna City, Ill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
