He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Long and Lois Long. He is survived by: his wife Diane Long; his children, Vernon Jr. Long (Michele), Jennifer Shelts (Jeff), Thomas Long (Kelly) and Melanie Roth (Jeff); his grandchild Ryan Long (Courtney); his great grandchild Delilah May; his grandchildren, Brooke Long, Collin Shelts, Justin Shelts, Madelyn Roth, Zach Roth, Mackenzie Long, Jackson Long and Grayson Long; and his siblings, Marilyn Kingsley, Janice White and Jim Long. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a farm field full of friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Vern's name. Checks may be made to the "Vernon Long Sr. Memorial" and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, 60119.
