With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sarah Peterson of Maple Park, Illinois, born in DeKalb, Illinois, who passed away on February 27, 2024 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John McMenamin and Sadie McMenamin (Coyne); her husband Robert "Bob" Peterson; her brothers, John and Ross McMenamin; and her daughter-in-law Kathy Peterson.
She is survived by: her sons, Jim Peterson (Linda), Larry Peterson (Cathryn), Kevin Peterson (Linda) and Dohn Peterson (Carla); her grandchildren, Jodi Diehl (John), Carrie Herrmann (Trey), Ted Peterson (Heidi), Rhonda McConkey (Ron), Todd Peterson (Sarah), Kelly Wituk (Jim), Scott Peterson, Adam Sobieray (April) and Connor Peterson; and her great grandchildren, Drew Diehl, Josie Diehl, Sarah Diehl (Shane Streit), Delia Diehl, Lena Herrmann, Will Herrmann, Logan McConkey, Grant McConkey, Isabelle McConkey, Justin Peterson, Boe Peterson, Luke Wituk, Jack Wituk, Ben Wituk, Abby Johnson, Reed Peterson, Lillie Peterson, Emryn Peterson, Ryan Peterson, Grady Holland and Gracelynn Sobieray.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Sally's name to benefit both the Salem Lutheran Church and Maple Park and Countryside Fire Department. Checks may be made to the "Sarah Ann Peterson Memorial" and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, 60119.
