He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gunderson and Edith Gunderson; his siblings, Marion Montgomery and Marty Sasman; his niece Laura Heilbrun; and his nephew Roger Heal.

He is survived by: his nephew Craig Montgomery; and his niece Diane Peterson.
