He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Diehl and Mary Diehl (Barry); his brother Joseph Diehl; his brother-in-law Don Beezley; his sons-in-law, Rick Lay and Brian Purcell; and his granddaughter Patricia Lay.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Diehl; his children, Catherine Lay, Robert Diehl, Jean Diehl, Thomas Diehl (Kim), Sandra Purcell and Carolyn Diehl; his grandchildren, Matt Lay (Danielle), Andrea Prusak (Michael), Christopher Diehl (Jamie), Timothy Diehl (Diana), Emily Diehl (Jesse Pena), Nicholas Diehl, Alex Purcell and Jack Purcell; his great grandchild Parker Marie Lay; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Reese, Carson and Addison; his sisters, Mary Sutter, Martha Hettinger (Robert) and Patricia Beezley; and his sister-in-law Sheila Diehl. He is also survived by great grandson due in June 2021, great twin grandchildren.
