He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Karrigan and Cora Karrigan (Moerke); his brothers, Wallace "Wally" Karrigan and William "Bill" Karrigan; and his son-in-law Kenneth "Ken" Bernd.

He is survived by: his former wife Mildred Pokrajac; his wife Mildred "Mickey" Karrigan; his children, James P. Karrigan and Kimberly P. McCormack (James M.); his grandchildren, Amanda Bernd, Kailey Lindsey, Krystina Karrigan and Kevin Karrigan; and his great grandchildren, Georgia, Aliyana and Abraham.
