March 5, 1941 - June 20, 2018 Charles Frederick ‟Fred" Amdor, 77, of Mansfield, Illinois, passed away at 9:40 A.M. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at his residence. His funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the Mansfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery with Military Rites Accorded. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Mansfield United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carle Foundation Oncology Nursing and Support Staff Education or the Mansfield United Methodist Church. Fred was born March 5, 1941, in Champaign, Illinois, a son of Elwood F. & Mary Maxine Cox Amdor. He married Patricia J. Heiser on April 15, 1972, in Danville, Illinois. She passed away May 29, 2011. He is survived by his son, Brett (Sandy) Amdor of Ontario, Oregon; brother, Stephen (Donna) Amdor of Surprise, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents. Fred was a farmer. He also had been an electrician for IBEW Local 601, Champaign, Illinois. Fred had served in the Illinois National Guard, Bloomington, Illinois from November 4, 1963 to November 3, 1969. He was a member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church; Kelso M. Garver American Legion Post 650 of Mansfield; Charter member of the Pheasants Forever Piatt County Chapter. He was an avid Trap Shooter, hunter and fisherman. Fred was a lifelong Cubs fan. He was also a pilot.
