It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard P. Knuppel (Manito, Illinois), who passed away on January 11, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Knuppel and Sarah Knuppel; his wife Mabel Simpson; and his siblings, Jane and Lyle.

He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Knuppel of Cairo, Missouri, Angela Shatz of Hillsborough, Steven Knuppel of Danville, California and Elizabeth Knuppel of Plano, Texas; and his brothers, Bill, John and Tom Knuppel. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

“We send our sympathy to the family, friends, and to Dick's companion for the past four years, Jan Bruck. Dick was loved by his friends here in The Villages, Florida. He was a fun-loving guy who enjoyed life to the fullest. We all will miss him terribly. He always enjoyed getting together with all of us for dinner or parties. We even taught Dick to dance which he loved to do to his country music. We have attached a photo of our last cruise together with Dick and our friends. Godspeed Dick.”
