He was predeceased by: his parents, Murl Lay and Josephine Lay (Miller); and his son John Dean Lay. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Allyn Johnson of Manito, IL; his children, James Dean Lay (Lori Santrock) of Mattoon, IL, Joseph Daniel Lay (Susan) of Manito, IL and Julie Lynn Lay (Ryan Deem) of Shrewsbury, MO; and his sisters, Evelyn Daugherty (Rayburn) of Hopedale, IL and Ann Anniss (Ernie) of Dysart, IA.. He is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
